Help me select the best waterbed for me

Help me select the best waterbed:

I have pain in my body and want the best possible relief.

You should only choose a “soft sided” waterbed, which makes getting into and out of bed much easier than a “hard sided” bed.

You should avoid soft sided beds with lots of movement, and choose instead a bed with a “mud-like” feel. This type of bed gives even better support, and together with the gentle heat in winter creates the chance for deep relaxation.

Lastly we'd advise sleeping on the biggest bed surface you can, and if you are sleeping with a partner choose a bed with a single water chamber (i.e. not a dual). This is because the dual is best chosen for individual temperature control, but it actually decreases individual comfort.

I'm just looking for a really comfortable bed

You really should consider a waterbed! The temperature control alone means that you feel nurtured in winter and cool on the hottest of summer nights.

If you are lucky enough to have avoided back or neck injuries you could choose either a hard-sided or a soft sided waterbed, as both give exceptional comfort.

At Back in Action we have a preference for soft-sided waterbeds and we also think that the hard-sided beds have a rather dated appearance, so we've been selling solely soft-sided beds for 15 years.

You can see our soft-sided beds here... and you can find suppliers of hard sided beds by using search engines such as Goggle.

I've heard waterbeds are a bit of fun, which type should I buy?

In the sixties waterbeds became famous as “frolic beds” for the publicity hungry celebrity. "Sex on a waterbed is great" was the message, and then there were stories of burst beds and love making couples being washed across the room. It's all about as true as "Freddie Starr Ate My Hamster" of course, and the reality much less dramatic.

Our waterbeds are not at all sloshy, and feel rather like very slow moving warm oil. People tell us that making love is sensuous rather than exciting, and also that the gentle warmth of the bed encourages relaxation too.

But if it's a sex machine bed you are after you'll want to try a hard sided very sloshy bed... and we don't sell these.

What we do sell is luxurious comforting waterbeds that you will value every night. Our range is here.
