Tempur Overlay Mattress This is the original (late 80's) Tempur product that spawned Tempur's growth. It is 7.5cm of Tempur material in a luxury washable velour cover. Simply place on any flat mattress. This allows deeper sleep with much less tossing and turning. It is so effective that it is approved as VAT free for all users who qualify. At Back in Action we make Tempur overlays available for home testing. You can also discover if your existing mattress is too worn to be improved (in which case we recommend one of the Combi mattresses). (Click here to see our prices) |

Tempur
Combi Mattresses In all Tempur Mattresses layer(s) of Tempur foam are welded above conventional foam to create different types of "combination" mattress. Tempur can choose and control the sub layers very carefully so the comfort of the combinations are better (and more predictable) than putting an overlay onto an existing bed. You can use Combi Mattresses on your own base or choose a new one. Combi mattresses offer the longest lasting mattress we know of. None of the Combi mattresses ever need turning; each (apart from the 22cm) is covered in washable velour and all come with a 15 year warranty We are skilled at helping to choose the best "combination" for your needs. Here's a brief summary of the differences. 15 cm: Why it exists: Tempur introduced the 15 cm Combi as a complete mattress replacement because the overlay (good as it is) cannot correct a soggy, misshapen under-surface. In a 15cm Combi the 7.5 cm overlay is welded to the peaks of an "egg box" topped layer of ordinary foam. This creates a central air circulation layer and allows the Combi to be placed on any level base. The mattress is at home on slats (up to 3 inch spacing), or on a very good condition sprung base. If your base compresses a lot at the edges this decreases the useable sleep area of the mattress so for standard double we recommend changing it. You can probably get away with keeping it on 5 and 6 foot wide beds. (Click here to see our prices) 20 cm: The 20 cm Combi offers the same health benefits as the overlay/15cm, (please see above) but has an extra top layer of supersoft Tempur. This can't improve further the sleep quality, but it does change the way the bed feels when you get in. The 20 cm simply feels rather more luxurious and this option is the most popular. Fitted sheets fit it better and it looks more substantial on a base. (Click here to see our prices) 25cm: The 25cm Combi has a bit more supersoft and an extra layer of normal foam, which further increases the sense of initial luxury and makes the mattress look very substantial on a base. All mattresses have the same weight bearing qualities, so don't simply choose a thicker mattresses if you are heavier build. (Click here to see our prices) 22cm (Deluxe): The 22cm Deluxe Combi is very different to the other Tempur mattresses. It contains a thicker layer of the Original Tempur Material (xx cm) topped with a layer of shredded Tempur which is sewn into the mattress's cover. This construction give two effects: 1) The mattress is deeply luxurious. 2) The mattress is more visually attractive. If you are buying Tempur for back or neck problems, we'd nevertheless suggest you choose from the 20cm or 25cm because these mattresses give slightly better spinal alignment. If you a choosing Tempur in order to have the world's most luxurious-feeling bed then choose between the 22cm Deluxe and the 25cm. (Click here to see our prices) |
