We are ergonomic experts, picking and choosing the products for our children's section with great care. Generally we don't offer a product unless we think it's the best, but the Svan is a challenge for us... let's explain.

Svan is not a normal highchair... like the Tripp Trapp the Svan chair grows with your child to adulthood.

The Svan High Chair is aimed primarily at the young baby market. The manufacturers say that it converts to a toddler's and upwards chair but the importers have decided it must only be sold in baby stores. You must draw your own conclusions regarding its suitability for older children!

We dislike trays on high chairs because they inevitably distance children from life around the table. This decreases their oppurtunity to see facial expressions and social context...hardly surprising that parents notice high chair children quickly become anarchic in their table manners.

Stokke you will have noticed do not make a tray for the Tripp Trapp.

So there you have it.....The Svan is the new kid on the block.....The Tripp Trapp still the product for those who value table based interaction. Svan is worth considering if your needs are primarily for a high chair with a tray. But we'd suggest selling it and getting a Tripp Trapp the moment you can cope without a tray.
