Have you ever noticed how some nights you wake feeling hot or cold, even though there's no obvious reason why? The explanation probably lies in your natural temperature rhythms which change your temperature during your sleep.

Temprakon quilts are the first such products on the market with active temperature control ability. The name stresses their unique ability to enhance temperature (Tempra) control (KON).

Technology developed by NASA

The technology which enables this "intelligent" down quilt to offer temperature control was originally developed by NASA for their astronauts' space suits and used during space shuttle flights. This technology uses "phase change" ** and is now used in the production of TempraKON down quilts and pillows. The TempraKON fabric keeps you in extreme comfort by absorbing excess body heat and releasing it when you need it most as your natural temperature cycle drops.

**Phase Change? How it works...

Using micro balls called "Outlast Thermocules" the fabric works with your body to control temperature and humidity better than ordinary materials. Unlike fabric and insulation that traps heat, TempraKON bedding absorbs, stores and releases heat as needed. When a substance changes from solid to liquid it stays at the same temperature but absorbs or gives up heat.

The heat absorbed or generated is called latent heat. Using latent heat transfer the TempraKON duvets buffer the microclimate next to your skin, so the TempraKON bedding reduces overheating and sweating, helping you to sleep more soundly and wake up more rested.
