Scroll for in depth Capisco set up instructions.
The chair you are about to use has a number of features which can help you to minimise discomfort and maximise movement through the working day.
A Capisco can take some getting used to when you first start sitting on it. Firm seats are incredibly important for helping to maintain movement and a good pelvis position... but that does mean your bottom-tissues might need toughening up a bit - allow a few weeks for this to happen.
As in any good furniture, be sure to vary your position and take regular breaks throughout the working day - in an ideal world pair a great chair with an even better desk - we recommend electric adjustable desks as they allow the greatest and easiest variety of both seating and standing heights.

Refer to the chair adjustment instructions (kept in the storage slot under the chair seat) and or read the following:
Our new V2 Capisco chairs feature a 15 degree backwards tilt.
The also have an additional adjustment switch, as shown here to activate a subtle but great 2 degree forwards tilt.
This small lever is positioned just behind the locking handle on the right hand side of the chair when sitting in it.
Once activated (it will be inactive on arrival) this allows the seat to be tilted forward a small amount introducing a nice micro movement to your day.
NB: To avoid accidental adjustments, the tilt slide can only be activated when the back rest is tilted back and locked. We reccomend adjusting the gas lift to its lowest setting before trying to activate the back-tilting lock.
Slide the lever once in this position (you will likley need to get off the chair) and then unlock it to experince the subtle but benefitcial forwards bouce tilt.

This is not a fault - The gas lift not engaging is a common issue when a Capsico is first assembled as most people aren’t squeezing the lever up hard enough.
There are two stages on the gas lift lever one (movement of about 2cm) engages the spring and the next (another 1cm of movement or so, which you have to squeeze harder for), engages the button on the top of the lift. This part can be quite stiff when the chair is new and many worry that they will break the lever if they pull harder.
To give you reassurance, you are very unlikely to break anything unless you are 'The Rock', these are Norwegian manufactured chairs with steel mechanisms rather that other chairs that use plastic - so they are incredibly resilient. The lever movement will rapidly get easier after the first one or two uses.
If a gas lift was faulty we would of course replace it but it's not happened on a Capisco in years.
Made in a factory nestled in the Norwegian hillsides about half way up the west coast, HAG is a special company.
We passionately believe HAG's chairs are among the most effective healthy-sitting chairs - especially when combined with our coaching and expertise.
We can show you how to get the absolute best out of any HAG chair with our years of understanding. We know them better than the manufacturers themselves.
